Developer L1 – JDE

Oak Brook, IL (hybrid/remote)

Description:

The Developer L1 is responsible for the overall support of assigned technical projects as well as the core development and readiness for testing changes based on client requirements and business needs for JD Edwards deployments.

This role requires multiple types of technical skills and strategies to provide support for key business requirements. The ideal candidate is comfortable conversing with different support models (US, hybrid, offshore) to clarify questions and needed direction to complete development activities or necessary changes and troubleshooting of issues. The Developer L1 is also responsible for completion of technical specifications (for development, system integration, etc.) based on interactions directly with the business partner and IT development team, along with issue resolution documentation to support generated tickets in client ticketing applications.

The Developer L1 is engaged, follows best practices for development initiatives, provides thoughtful leadership, and familiarity with proven on premise and cloud solutions that support project objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Works effectively and individually with technical and non-technical team members and business partners
  • Shares same focus as existing team members toward customer satisfaction and success
  • Has accountability for the successful completion of all aspects of assigned project design work
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and take the tasks on enterprise level project with minimal direction from manager
  • Ability to effectively use E1 toolset for all technical skills needed, engage in skill-based training for: C Business Function, NER, BV, IV, Table Conversions, Debugger, and other technical skills.
  • Experience or willingness to learn: BSSV, Orchestrator, Forms Packages, DSI, ETL, EDI, or other technical skills as required

Required skills:

  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively prepare and maintain the following documents / tools:
  • Understands Business Process and functional design documents
  • Ability to provide Process Flow Analysis and Data Models
  • Product Architecture and Design Best Practices
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and experience working with other developers
  • Experience working in a support model with ticketing systems and SLA performance metrics
  • Experience working with ERP applications (JDE)
  • Experience in design, coding, and testing of custom changes to modules, applications and reports
  • Experience with E1 existing functionality and new enhancements to the JDE platform 
  • Experience with EDI, DSI, ETL and WMS applications and integrations is recommended
  • Detailed Technical Design Documents for existing processes
  • Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, learn quickly and think creatively
  • Detail-oriented individual with the ability to quickly assimilate and apply new concepts, business models, and technologies
  • Participates in project planning activities and outlining detail technical tasks

Experience/Education:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field, Business Administration, Computer Science, Physics, or Engineering or related field 
  • Requires at least 1 to 3 years of technical experience, JDE 9.X experience, or equivalent related applications experience in a global environment
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the USA without any form of sponsorship
